Back by Popular Demand: Songs of Immigration, Part II at Casa Italiana

| February 25, 2018

“The Songs in my Suitcase” (Le Canzoni nella Mia Valigia) is the title of the new concert been prepared for presentation on Sunday March 4 at Casa Italiana Soiocultural Center.

Following the great success of last year’s program, “Songs of Migration and Longing,” this year’s concert presents the same talented artists: Oscar Bartoli, Sergio Fresco, Maria Marigliano and Anna Siciliano, accompanied by the Holy Rosary Church choir.

Last year the program presented the history of Italian migration especially to North America. This year the theme is the migrants’ journey: leaving Italy, being far away and coming back home.  With songs like “Non Ti Scordar di me,” “Terra Straniera,” and “Chist’è o Paese do Sole,” it is the musical journey of the songs that the migrant carries in his or her suitcase.

For tickets, call the Holy Rosary office at: 202-638-0165.
