The 39th Italian American Open hosted by the Lido Civic Club of Washington, D.C., will be held on June 4, 2012 at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, Md., near the intersection of Georgia Ave. and Norbeck Rd.
Last year’s event raised $30,000 to benefit Casa Italiana, the Italian Cultural Center in Washington, D.C. and the Lido Club Scholarship Fund.
The tournament will run from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. Lunch, which includes Italian sausages with peppers and onions, will be served at noon.
At 1:00 p.m. a Shotgun Start, Scramble/Best Ball Format will begin. A cocktail reception will be held at 5:00 p.m., followed by an awards dinner at 6:00 p.m.
The cost is $225 per single player, foursomes at $800. Corporate sponsorships, tee sponsors, lunch and dinner sponsors, and door prizes are still needed and appreciated.
