The second annual “Italians in DC Festival” will be held on Sunday, May 20, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza and Ronald Reagan Building at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
The Festival is a celebration of contemporary Italian culture, presented by Italians in the area who will bring a piece of Italy to downtown D.C. for the day.
This year’s program will feature Soul of Italy, a juried art show with 30 selected artworks by artists who live in the United States and who were inspired by Italy.
The afternoon will feature entertainment for children through educational activities aimed at presenting Italy to them. For adults, John Pucciano Jr. will preside over a wine tasting with a selection from Capital Wines. Tickets for the wine-tasting must be purchased online.
The bands, Dulcis in fundo and the i-Talians will play Italian pop-rock music from the seventies to today. An Italian buffet will be offered, hosted by Aria Pizzeria & Bar and sponsored by Euro Gourmet and De Cecco. The food will be accompanied by Italian cocktails, Peroni beer, and wine from Capital Wines.
A ticket must be purchased online for the buffet as well. The Italians in DC is supported by the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, Cultural Tourism DC, and Destination DC.
