A bust of the Florentine navigator and cartographer, Amerigo Vespucci, was donated by the Italian government to the Organization of American States (OAS). At a ceremony held on October 11, in the Hall of the Americas at the OAS headquarter, Sebastiano Fulci, Italy’s Permanent Observer to the OAS, said that “Amerigo Vespucci was an exceptional man, because he was not only an explorer and a scientist, but also an inventor.” The bust of Vespucci is the work of American artist Greg Wyatt.
