Lido Civic Club Awards $70,000 in College Scholarships

Congratulations to the 2020 Lido Civic Club Scholarship winners! This year, the Lido Civic Club awarded $70,000 to 14 impressive Italian American students from the Washington, D.C. area.  “This is what we do best, ” said Vincenzo Fragomeni, President of the Lido Civic Club.  “I want to thank all Lido Civic Club members and our supporters for making this possible. Since 2002 the Lido Civic Club has awarded $784,500 in college scholarships to deserving Italian American students,” said Fragomeni.

This year’s recipients of scholarship awards are: Nicole Fairbanks, University of Pittsburgh (recipient of the Dominic F. Antonelli, Jr. Scholarship); Matthew Fairbanks, Catholic University (recipient of the Madeline and Antonio Germinario Scholarship); Chiara O’Neill, Drexel University (recipient of the Gastone Monticelli Memorial Scholarship); Angelo Tundo, University of Maryland (recipient of the Angelo Caputo and Frank Trimboli Scholarship); and Dominic Allegra, George Mason University; Patrizia Manziano, Notre Dame University; Gaia Mieren, University of Maryland; Domenico Toscano, University of Delaware; Stephanie Farace, University of Maryland; Alyssa Marinaccio, East Stroudsburg University; Asa Nugent, NOVA Community College; Manuel Rettore, Catholic University; Paul Russo, Liberty University; and Sofia Sergi, Catholic University.

The members of the Lido Civic Club Scholarship Committee are: Lorry Clavelli, Charlie Russo, John Urciolo, Vito J. Germinario, Anthony Cancelosi, Joseph A. Scolaro, Sabatino Leo, John Dovi, and Francesco Isgro (Chairman).
